Foundation Honors Firefighters with Ride

Liberty RideTALENT, Ore. — A local non-profit that honors firefighters and EMT’s is starting a new fundraiser that’s making some noise. The Liberty Ride started Saturday morning at Fire District 5 in Talent. The organization helps crisis victims by holding open houses at the fire house to educate students and helps fund special equipment for Fire District 5 crew members.

“We’re here to help support the community and help people that are down because of a fire accident. Or you know, some sort of catastrophe, so we’re trying to help give back to the community and help those people in need,” said David Morris, a Firehouse Foundation board member.

Saturday’s two hour ride made stops at fire houses on the way to Lake of the Woods. Firehouse Foundation is fundraising again on September 13th at its annual “Fun Run” in Phoenix.
