ASHLAND, Ore. — The former director of Jefferson Public Radio (JPR), is suing Southern Oregon University, its president, and the Oregon University System.
Ron Kramer claims in the lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in Medford, that his civil rights were violated when he was fired. He is seeking $1.4 million in damages. Kramer was fired last June after an audit found his dual roles as director of both the radio station and its fundraising foundation created a conflict that put the University System at financial risk.
On Thursday, the JPR Foundation Board announced it has hired a new executive director of its Jefferson Live LLC, which is in charge of the restoration of the Holly Theatre. Randy Bobst-McKay of San Jose, California will start on March 18.
