Foreign Exchange Teens in Need of Homes

Foreign Exchange Students GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Dozens of foreign exchange students choose to visit southern Oregon to learn about American culture.

But this year,  there are still several students in need of host families. New Hope Christian School is looking for six families who can host students in Josephine County. This month, there are several Korean and Chinese teens visiting.

Coordinators say the program helps the teens learn about American families, schools and southern Oregon. School officials take them to Science Works, the river and the Jet Boat Excursions.

Coordinators say students choose to come back to Josephine county because in other cities they’ve had bad experiences.

“Host families have robbed their students. They just fell in love with the reception here. So, grants pass is to be commended for the love they give to these young people,” said director of international studies, Diana Hale.
