Foreclosure Ads Warn Oregonians

SALEM, Ore. – The state of Oregon is putting up adds and billboards as part of a campaign aimed at 23,000 Oregonians who lost their homes to foreclosure in the last couple of years.

Those people qualify for hundreds of dollars from a settlement with the country’s five big banks. Those who qualify are supposed to get a packet in the mail, but the state’s housing agency is worried people will overlook it, or addresses are out of date.

The ads along major roads and on public transit will warn people of the January 18th deadline and provide information on how to submit a claim.
