CRESCENT CITY, Ore. — Marine officials are tracking down the numbers to what is likely the first tsunami debris to hit the California coast and it washed up close to home.
Crescent City which saw some of the most severe damage on the west coast from the tsunami is the first to get debris.
A 20-foot fishing boat came ashore this weekend, it’s covered in sea creatures and crustaceans but has markings that connect it to Japan.
The boat was taken off the beach and to a secure area. Officials hope the follow the registration numbers back to the boats original owner.
