MEDFORD, Ore. — The first ever First Tee Golf Tournament is less than a week away. First Tee is an international program that helps put golf programs in local schools. The First Tee is being brought to southern Oregon for the very first time. Sponsors of the event said golf and other extra curricular activities are important in schools because they build students’ self-esteem. The money raised from the tournament this year will go to local elementary schools. It will help the schools buy extra curricular supplies, and put a First Tee golf program in place.
Anyone of any age can register for the First Tee Tournament. The event takes place at Centennial Golf Course at 9 a.m. on June 16. To register or for more information click here.
