Officials say they moved structures out and opened up the restaurant and store areas. Jackson County Parks officials say the goal was to improve the existing park but keep the experience consistent for folks who have been going to the park over the years.
“A lot of folks totally pleased with the transition that we made inside the lodge building, and the openness, and the fact that it’s a little bit cleaner and updated with modern amenities,” said Steve Lambert with Jackson County Parks.
Lambert says there are still openings at all Jackson County Parks campgrounds and resorts. He believes the cool and somewhat wet weather kept some folks away from vacationing for the holiday weekend.
