MEDFORD, Ore. — Air quality managers say fires across the West and across the world have been impacting the air in the Rogue Valley.
Smoke from wildfires in Russia has drifted to Southern Oregon. Officials at Medford DEQ say the jet stream has blown the smoke from the Russian fires to our area.
They say that is what was responsible for the haze in Southern Oregon. Officials say this weekend’s high temperatures in the Rogue Valley also resulted in high amounts of ozone.
DEQ officials say the smog level in Southern Oregon was much lower on Monday, and air quality has not reached a sensitive level.
