Fire In Coos County

COOS COUNTY, Ore. — A fire in Coos County has large numbers of firefighters on scene despite a relatively small size.

The Jimmy Creek Fire, burning off Highway 38, is only 15 acres and evacuation notices are not currently in place for people living in the area.

Despite that, a large amount of personnel and resources have been sent to battle the blaze, including 80 firefighters and two helicopters.

Fire officials say the additional resources are needed because of the extremely steep and rough terrain.
