Fire Hydrant Test in Ashland

FireHyd2ASHLAND, Ore. — For those living in the Ashland area, don’t be surprised if your water color changes in the next few hours.

Ashland Fire & Rescue, along with the Ashland Water Department, will be doing a fire hydrant flow test this afternoon. It’s happening near Hersey Street at 1:45 p.m.

During the test, people in the area may see a change in water color. The discoloration is caused by the disturbance of small mineral deposits. Officials say they are harmless.

The color should clear quickly. If it doesn’t, call Ashland’s Water Department.
