WHITE CITY, Ore. – For six decades Fire District 3 has served out community and today they celebrated that anniversary by giving residents a sneak peak into a firefighters day. Past fire captains and emergency responders from the last 60 years sat along residents Wednesday afternoon.
Each had an opportunity to take us through what this fire district looked like when they served. Some crew members recalled building their own gear and others remember performing their own maintenance work on their engines. Those who attended received a lesson in fire safety as well.
Fire District 3 runs more than 5,000 calls annually from their seven fire stations. This includes fire and emergency medical services to 48,000 residents.
