Fire Danger Level Climbs to High Monday

Fire Danger Level

MEDFORD, Ore. — On Monday, June 16th the fire danger level will increase to high for Oregon Department of Forestry-protected land in Jackson and Josephine Counties. The industrial fire precuation level will remain at level one.

Restrictions include no debris burning, no fireworks and no exploding targets with a phyrotechnic charge in it’s base. Campfires will be allowed only in designated campgrounds. Motorized vehicles will only be allowed on improved roads.

Chain saws may not be used between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Mowing of dead or dry grass with power-driven equipment will not be allowed between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Cutting, grinding or welding metal will not be allowed between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Smoking while traveling will be allowed only in enclosed vehicles on improved roads.
