High pressure continues to build and expand across the West today. This is going to allow for temperatures to trend 5-10 degrees warmer than Sunday. Afternoon temperatures will be in the 70’s in the Klamath Basin, 80’s across West Side Valleys & even the 70’s at the Coast. And this is just the beginning because temperatures will continue to climb towards midweek!
Dry weather will be ongoing through the end of the week, as a warming trend unfolds. A heat wave will begin Tuesday across the West Side …a heat wave is technically three consecutive days with highs in the 90’s. Tuesday through Thursday this will be the case for the Valley. We’ll again be tying and breaking many records on Wednesday and Thursday, the warmest days of the week.
Records for the middle of the week are not recent either — many are from decades ago. On Wednesday the record in the Medford is 95 from 1939, & the forecasted high is 95. In North Bend, the record is 75 from 1907 and the forecasted high — 79. These are just a few of the many locations that will likely break records.
Temperatures will begin to cool down into the weekend and clouds will move in as well. Showers look to arrive at the Coast on Saturday and inland on Sunday.
