A cold front has pushed through the area had brought quite a bit of rain and even a few thunderstorms. Most of the shower activity is over for our region with just a few light showers possible this evening. Clouds have already began to clear at the coast and will continue to do so over inland areas which will allow temperatures to drop quickly this evening. Wednesday and Thursday mornings will be quite chilly and a Freeze Warning has been issued for the east side and areas around Mt. Shasta during this time.
After a couple of chilly mornings, the afternoons will gradually warm back to normal by Thursday getting one last taste of Summer. Enjoy it because rain returns Friday afternoon and will drop significant rainfall into Saturday as another cold front passes through. Gusty winds will return at the coast, ridges and east side ahead of this front and temperatures will drop behind the system. We’ll get a brief break late Saturday into early Sunday before another front arrives Sunday afternoon bringing periods of rain into Monday. Fall officially begins on Sunday and it will feel like it!
