High pressure offshore coupled with a thermal trough over California will continue to bring warm and sunny conditions across the region today. This also will continue the Chetco Effect at the coast, so Brookings will be around 80 degrees again this afternoon. The thermal trough will shift inland tomorrow and that means the warm air will move further inland and temperatures will climb ten to fifteen degrees above normal for the rest of the week! However, temperatures at the coast will start to drop tomorrow and continue to fall through the weekend as the offshore flow switches to onshore flow bringing back that cool ocean air. This will also means marine layer fog will start to make it’s way back to the coast his weekend.
The ridge will start to flatten towards the weekend causing temperatures to cool, but still remain above normal. Could see some showers late Saturday into early Sunday but weather models have not come into agreement yet on this weekends system, so for now have included more cloud cover and cooler temperatures.
