MEDFORD, Ore. — Federal investigators are determining if the explosion outside the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office was an act of terrorism.
Several FBI and ATF bomb technicians were called to the scene on Wednesday morning. The FBI cannot release what type of evidence investigators are looking for or what has been collected so far.
The FBI has several methods to get a better picture of how an explosive was built and who may have done it.
“To put together those pieces and determine if there are any indicators that show evidence of who built the bomb or the improvised explosive device, who is responsible,” said FBI spokesperson Beth Anne Steele.
The FBI is looking into a man wearing dark-clothing who was seen in the area, but investigators are keeping their options open to other possible suspects. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is also assisting federal investigators and the Medford Police Department.
