NEAR ROGUE RIVER, Ore. — A man is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate Five. State troopers say excessive speed is to blame.
The crash happened around 2 p.m. near the Rogue River exit. OSP said the driver was speeding in a pick-up truck when he hit another car and skidded across the freeway. That driver ended up landing upside down in a ditch; he died on scene.
A helicopter airlifted a male passenger from the truck to a Medford hospital. Passengers in the other vehicle were uninjured. Troopers are not releasing the name of the man who was killed and are continuing the investigation.
