Family’s Home Burned To The Ground

PHOENIX, Ore. — A Rogue Valley family is without their home and their dog is missing after a fire destroyed their home early Saturday morning. The call came in around 4:45 a.m. Saturday morning and and crews from Jackson County Fire District 5, Medford Fire and Fire District 3 responded to the call on Coleman Creek Road. All family members were able to safely escape but fire crews say the home is a total loss.

“Unfortunately due to the rural setting, the lack of fire hydrants and reduced amount of water, they were not able to extinguish the fire. The house was totally destroyed,” said Fire District 5 Captain Bob Holt.

Family members said they do have insurance and have been working with the red cross for temporary relief. A two year-old pitbull named Roco is still missing.
