MEDFORD, Ore. — A southern Oregon school is stepping up to help a family who lost their home to a fire Thanksgiving night.
The fire happened on the 3 thousand block of Mallard Lane in Medford. The McFarland family escaped safely with their pet. Since then, Madrone Trail Public Charter School set up a fund to help the family. The family’s two kids go to the school. Staff members helped with laundry and provided some clothes.
The homeowner tells NewsWatch 12, she is grateful for the support from neighbors and the school’s help so far.
“We don’t have any places to store anything right now. When we get a house that will change but we feel like we’re on a very primitive…food, clothing, food clothing that’s all we need at the moment,” explained Sherri McFarland.
If you would like to help the McFarland’s, contact the school at 3070 Ross Lane Central Point, OR 97502. The phone number is: 541-842-3657
