Family Mourns Oregon Soldier Death

Family members of an Oregon soldier killed in Afghanistan said they will remember his upbeat and bubbly outlook on life.

On Tuesday, the Department of Defense announced 21-year-old Specialist Mabry J. Anders of Baker City died of injuries suffered from enemy fire. Sergeant Christopher Birdwell of Colorado was also killed in the gunfire.

Both soldiers were assigned to the 4th Brigade Combat Team. Anders was on his first deployment.
