Families Get Disability Training

MEDFORD, Ore. — Local families gathered at the Swindells Resource Center to receive free training. The event was designed for families with special needs children.

The training, put on by Family and Community Together, Oregon’s Parent Training and Information Center (FACT Oregon) was called, “Understanding the IEP: Development, Process and Your Critically Important Role on the Team.”

“It can be a little overwhelming for parents and this is a good way for them to understand the process exactly how it works and to be able to advocate better for their children,” said FACT’s Heather Molzer.
