Fallen Tree Causing Rogue River Hazard

GOLD HILL, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says a fallen tree is causing a hazard along the Rogue River.

The sheriff’s office says a large tree has fallen over about 100 yards below Sardine Creek near Gold Hill, and is now blocking two-thirds of the Rogue River.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Oregon State Marine Board to remove the hazard, but they say it is taking longer than expected.

The sheriff’s office says anyone using that portion of the Rogue River is being asked to use extreme caution, wear a lifejacket, and try to stay as far away from the tree as possible.
