Fair Organizers Prepare for Event

Jackson County FairCENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Fair organizers say the offices at the Jackson County Expo are chaotic this week as they get ready for the big event. Outside, crews continue to set up the carnival rides. This year there are a lot of new things to expect at the fair. All kids under 12 get in for free. The carnival company is new this year, there’s a new free rodeo and an animal petting zoo. You can also expect a lot of music. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, there are concerts free on the grass.

“They’re really dynamic and reserved seats as cheap as $15. So we have a tremendous value going in our major concerts. We also are going to have three music stages going on here at all during the fair, over 60 hours of what we call regional talent,” said Expo Manager Dave Koellermeier.

Fair officials are ready for the heat as well. They have extra tents in the works for shade and added more misters to the grounds.
