MEDFORD, Ore. — A multi-organization partnership is helping Jackson and Josephine County residents get fitted for glasses.
The Southern Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Center is teaming up with Vision Service Plan and Prevent Blindness America to provide the funding.
Low-income residents who qualify will get one free eye exam and a pair of glasses. So far, organizers say many people are taking advantage of this new program.
“In the past, here at the sight and hearing center, we could help 12 folks a month with glasses and an exam. But this program has opened up an opportunity for us to serve whoever is in need,” said Executive Director Glory Cooper.
There is no word yet on how long this service will be available. For more information, call 541-779-3653.
