NEAR CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Experts are gearing up for another busy fire season, starting by teaching local residents how to be prepared.
In April, the Oregon State University Extension will offer an 8-week course for residents in Jackson and Josephine counties.
The Citizen Fire Academy is in response to last year’s active summer. The Oregon Department of Forestry will help to fund the course.
It runs from April 13th through June 3rd. Applications are due by April 11th. It costs $100.
