Experts Use Production Plant to Recruit

Amy's KitchenWHITE CITY, Ore. — Experts are using a growing business to recruit other companies to the Rogue Valley.

Executive Director of Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Ron Fox says Amy’s Kitchen is now one of the area’s largest employers. The food production plant is closing in on the number one private production company in the Rogue Valley, Harry and David. Amy’s Kitchen now employs nearly 800 people at it’s White City organic food plant property.

“We use Amy’s and all of the other successful companies as sort of an example of … this is a special place and this is a good place to operate your business…and we’re looking for that next big business right now,” said Fox.

Fox says the payroll must be in the millions of dollars and those salaries are spent in Southern Oregon bringing in a big boost to the economy.
