August 9, step back in time and join in the festivities on Jacksonville History Saturday!  The day begins at 10am with a tour of Jacksonville’s pioneer cemetery, focusing on the “Rogue River Indian Wars.” Throughout the day, visit the historic Beekman Bank, the second oldest bank in the Pacific Northwest, for “Behind the Counter Tours” offered by town historian, Larry Smith.  Then “Victorian Music and Literature” will be the theme at the 1873 Cornelius C. Beekman House, located at 470 E. California Street. Victorian costumed docents will share information on music, the Jacksonville Silver Cornet band, authors, and local dance halls popular in the late 1800s. Listen to records on the Beekman Victrola, tunes on their Mathushek piano, and FREE music on the lawn! August 9, Jacksonville History Saturday – Cemetery tour: Admission – FREE; 10am. Beekman Bank tours: Admission – $2; 11:15am, 12:15pm, 1:15pm & 2:15pm. Beekman House tours: Admission – $  5/adults, $3/seniors & students; tours every 15 minutes between 12:00pm and 4pm. Questions?
