SALEM, Ore. — A government ethics committee is looking into whether Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber, can accept money for delivering speeches on health policy.
Governor Kitzhaber is a former emergency room physician, and state legislator. He regularly gets paid speaking offers, but so far has not accept any during his time in office.
A lawyer for the Governor’s office publicly asked, if the Governor can begin accept those request. The matter is expected to be considered next week.
