BEND, Ore. – An escaped inmate from the Klamath County Detention Center is back in jail. Around 6:30 Monday evening, police officers pulled over a vehicle in Bend for a traffic violation.
When questioned, Kenneth Robert Banes tried to trick officers, giving them false information; knowing deputies in Klamath County were looking for Banes, they doubted his story.
Banes apparently tried to run and resisted arrest. He is now in the Dechutes County Jail. Banes escaped from the Klamath County Jail early Thursday morning through a fence line. His mother, Kathleen Delaney and Syndahl McFarland were arrested for helping him after the escape.
