A lot of times we talk about snow levels; that’s the elevation that snow can reach down to. So if we have a snow level of 4,000 feet, Sexton Summit is going to be dealing with rain. Medford, also just a below Ashland and can get rain when Ashland gets snow. Crater Lake, one of the taller peaks, is above 6,000 feet. Lake of the Woods and Diamond Lake Summit, two mountain passes we often talk about, are just over 5,000 feet. Klamath Falls will often get snow when the Valleys get rain because they are up at 4,000 feet. And one of the the highest peaks in our next of the woods is 14,000 feet at Mt. Shasta, that’s why they get quite a bit of snow.
