A 29-year-old computer technician for a U.S. defense contractor leaked details of a top-secret American program that collects vast streams of phone and Internet data, American and British newspapers revealed. The Justice Department declined to comment.
SCOTUS Rules on DNA Swab after Arrest

The U.S. Supreme Court rules police can collect DNA from criminal suspects without first getting a warrant. The ruling involved a Maryland case where a man was convicted of rape based on a DNA sample taken during an arrest on an unrelated charge.
Law Enforcement Levy Fails

For the second time, a tax measure to restore public safety in Josephine County failed to win voter approval. The unofficial results show 49 percent voted yes and 51 percent voted no. Around 400 votes separate the two sides as of 9:50 p.m.
