An estimated 250 to 300 representatives from nonprofit organizations throughout Eastern Oregon and Southwest Idaho will attend the Eastern Oregon Nonprofit Conference on September 13-14, at the Four Rivers Cultural Center.
The discussion at the conference will focus on the need to better distribute federal grant funds to rural areas. Conference speakers will note the fact that in the past fiscal year, only $125 million out of $5.1 billion in federal grant funds awarded in Oregon went to rural communities. Part of the conference will focus on effective rural collaborative efforts in federal grant-seeking, as well as identify federal grant programs for the next fiscal year.
The conference will also host several workshops on topics such as updates on IRS requirements for nonprofits, information to help board members tackle issues more strategically, and grant-seeking, fundraising, and must-have technology tools for nonprofits.
Anyone interested in attending the conference can register online now at www.eonc-ontario.org. This website also poses opportunities to businesses for whom the nonprofit sector is a target market.
