GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Volunteers delivered more than 400 Easter baskets for local foster children on Friday afternoon.
Josephine County non-profit Our Foster Kids created each individual basket with a foster child in mind. Volunteers used donation money to buy each child a treat for Easter.
Every basket included age appropriate gifts and the child’s first name on a card. The volunteers delivered the baskets to the Josephine County Department of Human Services in Grants Pass.
“Every basket has the child’s name on it because we feel it’s really important that the child knows that someone in the community cares about them in particular. So, that’s the goal of whatever we do,” said Our Foster Kids Founder Bea Ryan.
It’s the fourth year this organization has provided Easter baskets for local children. The group also gives backpacks and Christmas gifts to foster children.
