EAGLE POINT, Ore. – Eagle Point started the 2012 season with an exclamation point. The Eagles were taking on Mazama and vaulted out of the box with 22 points in the 1st quarter, and by halftime were leading 32-0. The game was played on a neutral site because Eagle Point’s home field is in the process of a $1 million renovation that includes the installation of new artificial turf.
Coach Jacob Schauffler said his players are excited to introduce the new field to the community this Friday when they host the Summit Storm. Their running game, however, needs no introduction. Led by Seth Arena and Jakob Combs, the Eagles bulldozed Mazama for 243 yards and 4 touchdowns.
