EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police say UO basketball player Damyean Dotson was cited and released for using a false ID at a campus-area bar early Saturday morning.

Police say at 12:47am security at Taylor’s Bar and Grill notified them about the offense.

An EPD spokesperson says Dotson’s offense could have landed him in jail, but officers took him into custody and later released him.

UO head basketball coach Dana Altman released this statement Sunday afternoon regarding the situation:

“We are aware of the citation and will continue to gather information regarding the circumstances. Once all the facts are available, additional discipline and community outreach will be handled internally.”
