GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Grants Pass Police want you to gather any prescription medication today to hand over on Saturday.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is teaming up with Grants Pass Department of Public Safety to hold the seventh opportunity in three years for people to bring in potentially dangerous drugs.
Officers want to prevent pill abuse, so they’re offering to dispose of any expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Experts say flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash are hazardous methods.
Last September, officials report Americans relinquished 244 tons of prescription drugs at more than 5,000 locations. The drug take back is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 101 Northwest A Street. It’s anonymous and there are no questions asked.
