Drowning at Lake of the Woods

Police-Lights-22-250x169KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Deputies are still trying to identify the body of the young man who was recovered from Lake of the Woods after witnesses saw him in the lake yelling for help.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to Lake of the Woods on a report of a possible drowning on Wednesday around 7:22 p.m. Klamath County Dive Rescue recovered the young man from about 10 feet of water.

The young man was apparently attempting to recover a flotation device for a child when he began yelling for help. The unidentified man arrived at the lake with recent acquaintances from the Ashland area.

The man has not been positively identified. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
