PHOENIX, Ore. — Some drivers in Phoenix said they are trying to avoid all of the road work that began today on the exit 24 interchange.
The Oregon Department of Transportation has been warning drivers about delays on Interstate 5 during the construction. It’s a part of the ongoing Fern Valley Interchange project at exit 24.
Traffic was slowed to one lane going both north and south while crews began work. Many drivers on Monday said they were taking different routes to get where they needed to go.
“I won’t miss I-5 for a while,” said Dwight Hayden, who lives in Phoenix. “Once we get it back, I’ll get back on it.”
