Driver Shears Off Power Pole

MEDFORD, Ore. — The icy conditions are being blamed for a car crashing and knocking over a light pole.

Police said the driver lost control of her vehicle around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning. Police said she was on East McAndrews Road near Foothill Road when she tried to make a lane change and ran into the pole.

“She’s okay, she actually got out and tried to move the light pole to get it out of the lane of traffic, and she sliced her hand. So, not injured from the accident but injured from the light pole afterward,” said Trevor Arnold with the Medford Police.

The Public Works Department was out there Friday morning cleaning up the pole. Police also responded to another crash near this accident, where a vehicle ended up sliding on the icy road. Police found the vehicle abandoned.
