Driver Injured in White City Crash

5-10 jbo car crashWHITE CITY, Ore. — A driver is in the hospital in unknown condition after crashing into a ditch at the corner of Modoc and Table Rock Road in White City.

Skidmarks were left behind at the scene. Sheriff’s deputies say a male driver was found unconscious by two passers-by who stopped to help. They say the cause is unknown, but witness testimony, along with the skidmarks left behind and modifications on the car, suggest speed is the most likely factor.

“The witnesses didn’t smell alcohol. The deputies still responding to the hospital talked to them. There’s some skidmarks on the scene, looked like there was probably speed involved,” said Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Blake Cam.

Sheriff’s deputies say the driver was fortunate in that one of the people who stopped to help was a trained EMT. The driver was taken to the hospital by Mercy Flights but deputies did not know his condition.
