Dr. Besser Discusses Fat Letter

A Florida mother is fighting back after her 11-year-old daughter came home from school with a so-called “fat letter”, labeling her as overweight.

What’s being called a “fat letter” is the result of a body mass index screening administered at the child’s school. Similar screening programs are in place at schools in 19 states.

We spoke with ABC’s Chief Health and Medical Editor, Dr. Richard Besser to get his take.
