MEDFORD, Ore. — For the fourth week in a row, Oregon gas prices dropped by double digits. The current average statewide is $3.60 a gallon according to AAA down ten cents from last week.
Analysts say the pain is lessening at the pump due to a number of factors including lower crude oil prices and a decrease in demand that comes after the summer driving season. A year ago, the statewide average was ten cents higher
In the Medford-Ashland area, the average is below what it is statewide, at $3.56 and significantly lower than a year ago. The aftermath of Superstorm Sandy has also played a role in the drop in prices due to a huge drop in national demand.
