ASHLAND, Ore. — SOU quarterback Austin Dodge broke a school record with eight passing touchdowns and the Raiders won their third straight game, beating Montana Tech 59-32 at Raider Stadium. Dodge also threw for 559 yards as the Raiders improved their conference record to 3-2.
The game looked like it might be over early, as the Raiders took a 31-7 lead into halftime. The Orediggers came out strong in the third though, scoring 17 straight points to start the half. However, the Raiders responded with a 48 yard touchdown pass from Dodge to Dylan Young, the first of four unanswered touchdowns as the Raiders put the game away.
Three receivers had more than 100 yards. Young had nine catches for 141 yards and one touchdown. Junior Ryan Retzlaff caught 13 balls for 199 yards and three touchdowns, while his younger brother Matt had 153 yards and three scores.
The Raiders have a bye week coming up, but they return to the field for a home game against Montana State-Northern on October 19th.
