The Southern Oregon Raiders had a record setting afternoon at Raider Stadium, dominating rivals Eastern Oregon 68-22. SOU piled up 706 yards of total offense, the most ever in program history. The Raiders’ offense was led by sophomore quarterback Austin Dodge, who had 468 yards and five touchdowns. Dodge could have added to those numbers, but didn’t play in the second half with the Raiders up 51-7.
Three receivers wound up with more than 100 yards receiving. Cole McKenzie, Patrick Donahue and Clay Sierra all topped the century mark, and all found the endzone.
The defense also did its part. The Raiders forced a fumble and had a pick six in the first quarter, helping SOU jump out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter. SOU didn’t let up from there, outscoring the Mountaineers 30-7 in the second quarter.
