EAGLE POINT, Ore. — DNA left on an orange juice carton led sheiff’s deputies to a man they say burglarized an Eagle Point home last fall.
33 year-old Ryan Bohnert has been charged with 1st degree burglary and 1st degree theft stemming from a burglary last October where Jackson County officials say Bohnert and another suspect stole more than $10,000 worth of items from the home.
One of the items disturbed during the burglary was an orange juice carton, which was found in the garage with DNA on the mouth of the carton that matches Bohnert and one other suspect. Officials say that evidence was critical in making the arrest.
At the time of the arrest Bohnert was already in the Jackson County Jail facing charges from a different burglary so the new charges were just added on.
