Dispatch Workers Collect Coats

MEDFORD, Ore. — With just days left to take part in NewsWatch12’s Coats For Kids Drive, a group of people that spend their workdays serving our community have joined forces to donate even more coats.

A dispatcher for Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon has put together a make-shift collection site at the workplace. Danielle Clyburn then sent out an e-mail to her co-workers asking them to donate. She’s also asked the agencies they dispatch for to take part.

“Mostly it’s negative calls and that’s something we can do where we feel like you provided something for someone more positive than what we generally do,” said Clyburn.

Clyburn will eventually drop all of those coats off at one of the dozens of official red bins NewsWatch12 have placed throughout the community. Those who donate have through Thursday to donate. For a full list of donation sites, click here.
