Death Investigation Near Klamath Falls

Death Investigation KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Oregon State Police (OSP) are continuing to investigate the death of a 66-year old man whose body was found Wednesday around 8:00 a.m. in the back of a burning pickup on a dirt road.

The Rocky Point Fire department and EMS, along with OSP responded to the dirt road, south of Highway 140, west of Klamath Falls on a report of a vehicle fire near milepost 51. After the fire was extinguished they found the body of a deceased male in the bed of the charred pickup.

Initial investigation identified the male as Joseph E. Huntstiger, 66, from Klamath Falls. A handgun was found with the victim. An autopsy is pending to confirm the manner and cause of death.
