MEDFORD, Ore. — A community garden has real value to a neighborhood. It’s just as much about the community as it is about gardening.
“This lot that we’re standing on now, this is the fourth year that this has been a community garden. Five years ago there was a dilapidated house right here on this property, weeds growing up. People walking by, trying to avoid the property. Now, actually people are coming here within the community, within the neighborhood to garden, to grow food,” said Master Gardner Jason Bull.
Jason says there are over 30 community gardens here in the Rogue Valley and they’re all a little bit different. They take on the look of the community and the people that make up that community garden.
If you want to be involved with a community garden, you can visit the Jackson County Community Garden Network’s website. The website lists the community gardens in our valley.
