Cyber Monday Poses Security Questions

MEDFORD, Ore. — Local computer technicians in the Rogue Valley urge online shoppers to be cautious and have security in the back of their minds while they score big deals on Cyber Monday.

Experts advise online shoppers to try to shop online at big name stores because typically they are the most secure. Other recommendations include to try and look for “https”  in the address bar when checking out because that can help assure high security.

“Probably my biggest number one piece of advice is to use a credit card. The reason for that is you can hedge your bets and they can only charge as much as you have as a limit on your card, ” said Excalibur Computer Solutions owner  Donny Saindon.

Saindon also says keeping a close eye on bank and credit card statements can help make sure any potential thieves don’t make it too far with your information.
