Curry County Jail Grant

CURRY COUNTY, Ore. – More than $7,000 will help the Curry County Jail.

The money comes from a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice meant to cover the expense of keeping illegal aliens, who have committed serious crimes, behind bars. The sheriff says while it is not a great amount of money anything helps in the current economic situation.

The sheriff also said this is another example of how the Curry County Sheriff’s Office is thinking outside the box to get as much money as possible to help offset general fund dollars.
